Life here is full of moments worth showing up for!
Whether it’s a favorite weekly game, a live performance, a community outing, or simply a good conversation over coffee—every day offers chances to connect, stay active, and enjoy being part of something.
Activities here are planned around what residents actually enjoy.
Participation is always encouraged, never pressured. And because our community is small, nothing ever feels like a crowded event—it feels like your neighbors getting together.

Each week features a variety of activities that encourage movement, creativity, and connection in ways that feel natural and enjoyable. In a close-knit setting, activities feel more personal and relaxed—participation is always encouraged, and there’s always room for one more.
We’re also proud of our ongoing partnerships with Illinois State University’s School of Music (including Music Therapy students), ISU Therapeutic Recreation students, and nursing students from both ISU’s Mennonite College of Nursing and Illinois Wesleyan. These partnerships bring fresh energy, intergenerational connection, and meaningful programming into the community throughout the year.

Some moments on the calendar become traditions—the ones residents mark their calendars for and families plan around. Here are a few of ours.
Every summer, we open our doors to residents, families, friends, and neighbors for an afternoon of live music, sweet treats, and easy conversation. It’s become one of the most anticipated events of the year—and one of the best examples of what this community is really about.
Each December, the building fills with music, warmth, and the kind of joy that only happens when a real community gathers. Residents, families, and guests come together to celebrate the season, share familiar traditions, and enjoy each other’s company.
Our very own resident bell choir—the Senior Chimers—performs for the community throughout the year. These concerts are a beloved tradition, full of familiar songs, shared enjoyment, and the simple pleasure of something created right here at home.
Activities aren’t just planned for residents—they’re shaped by them. Several of our most meaningful programs are resident-led, and every voice in this community is heard.
Made up of longtime residents who know exactly what it feels like to be the new face in the room. They sit with new residents at meals, make introductions, and make sure no one ever settles in alone. It’s one of the small touches that makes a big difference—and one families mention most.
A formal resident voice for feedback, ideas, and input that helps guide community decisions. From suggesting new activities to weighing in on community life, residents have a real seat at the table.
Organized by residents themselves, offering connection, conversation, and camaraderie for the men of the community.
Neighbors regularly gather for puzzles, cards, and board games—no schedule required. Some of the best moments here are the unplanned ones.
